Our Nursery
Welcome to VK English and French Nursery, conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from Enfield Lock Railway Station. The main entrance to the nursery is accessed via Renton Road.
Our nursery provides a warm, welcoming, and stimulating environment where every child is supported to learn, grow, and thrive. Children are cared for in a spacious main hall that has been thoughtfully organised into age-appropriate learning areas.
Our setting caters for children from 0 months to 5 years, with dedicated spaces for:
• 0–18 months – providing a safe, nurturing environment tailored to babies’ individual needs.
• 2–5 years – offering engaging learning experiences that promote independence, confidence, and school readiness.
This age-specific organisation ensures that every child receives care and learning experiences that are appropriate to their stage of development.
Our nursery also features a dedicated sensory room, designed for all children to enjoy, with a particular focus on supporting children with additional needs. This calm and relaxing space is equipped with a variety of sensory resources that encourage exploration, self-regulation, emotional well-being, and quiet reflection.
At the heart of our nursery is a bright and welcoming learning environment that reflects the values of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). We celebrate the unique journey of every child, providing a nurturing environment where children are encouraged to flourish, learn, and develop at their own pace.
We are proud to offer an extensive outdoor play area, giving children daily opportunities to explore, discover, and learn through play. Outdoor experiences help promote physical development, confidence, curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
At VK English and French Nursery, we are committed to supporting every child’s individual growth and development within a warm, caring, and inclusive setting where every child feels valued and respected.
A unique feature of our nursery is our French language programme. We introduce children to French from an early age through songs, stories, games, numbers, letters, and everyday conversation. Children enjoy regular French story times and interactive learning activities led by our dedicated French teacher, who visits the nursery twice each week. Early exposure to a second language helps develop children’s communication skills, confidence, cultural awareness, and understanding of the wider world while making language learning fun and natural.
Our Team
At VK English and French Day Nursery, we take great pride in our dedicated, experienced, and passionate Early Years team. Every member of our staff has been carefully selected through a rigorous recruitment process to ensure we provide the highest standard of care, education, and support for every child.
Our practitioners hold recognised childcare qualifications at Levels 1, 2, 3, and 5 and have extensive experience working with children from birth to 5 years, as well as school-aged children. Each member of our team holds an enhanced DBS certificate, is registered with the DBS Update Service, and maintains up-to-date training in safeguarding, paediatric first aid, and other essential areas of childcare to ensure the safety and well-being of every child in our care.
We are committed to continuous professional development, and our team regularly attends training courses to enhance their knowledge, skills, and understanding of the latest Early Years practices. This enables us to provide high-quality learning experiences in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
Working in Partnership with Parents
We believe that strong partnerships with parents and carers are essential to every child’s success. To keep families informed and involved, we provide access to a secure parent communication app where parents can receive regular updates throughout the day.
Through the app, parents will be able to see:
- Daily observations and learning experiences
- Photographs of their child’s activities
- Development progress linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
- Meals and snacks enjoyed throughout the day
- Sleep and care routines (where appropriate)
- Nappy changes and personal care information
- Messages and important nursery updates
These daily updates provide reassurance and peace of mind, helping parents stay connected with their child’s learning and development, even while they are apart.
Learning Beyond the Nursery
We believe that children learn best through real-life experiences and opportunities to explore their local community. As part of our enriching curriculum, children will enjoy regular visits to our local library on Aldenham Road twice each week. These visits encourage a love of books, storytelling, language development, and early literacy while helping children become confident members of their community.
Parents will receive photographs and updates through our secure app, allowing them to share in these special experiences and celebrate their child’s learning journey every step of the way.
Curriculum
At VK English and French Day Nursery we believe in children craving and achieving the most of their ability by playing learning and growing together. We provide a flexible routine in which everykids unique personality and learning style is nurtured and cared for.
Morning snacks will consist of fresh fruit and afternoon snacks will be fibre based. All of our food will be as locally provided as possible. Hot food is going to be made every morning.
Children will have access all day to fresh water from their own persona bottle.
A third of a pint of milk will be provided for every child over one year old over the course of the day. Milk alternative and formula milk will be provided by the parent.
Nap will be regularly checked and changed if needed and not just on out located time
How we Monitor Progress
At VK English and French Day Nursery we ensure that children's interests and learning go hand to hand. We will observe your children's interests and plan. Observing the children is vital because each child has a unique set of ability and talent. And observation in different situations capture third first hand
Observing what children choose to do, what they interest are, and who and what resources they enjoy playing with provides adult with reliable information about children as individuals.
Ongoing assessments is what we use to on our daily base to decide about what the child has learn or can do already to help the child move on in their learning this is something called formative assessment because it informs the next step that are planned with the child and parent.
Planning is about meeting children’s needs so that they can play and learn happily in a way which will help them develop skill and knowledge across all areas in their early year a foundation stage (eyfs)
